You will be a key driver of change from within the development department, leading the architecture of new and existing systems in order to bring significant improvement to our application ecosystem, in line with a wide-
ranging programme of technical transformation and the delivery of critical new business features.
As an experienced architect you will be able to inspire software development teams, and engage early with product owners and project managers to ensure the best possible architecture for up-
coming initiatives. With your input into the requirements gathering phase you will aid with shaping, scoping and defining the technical solution for the full scope of the challenge whilst identifying and mitigating risk.
With your solid understanding of agile development methodologies and Continuous Delivery, you will assist the development teams with the realisation of their requirements, and through a process of collaboration and consensus building with those teams, define the system architecture, technical approach, and blueprints for solutions that are highly performant, scalable, and robust, while ensuring that they adhere to the overall technical vision for which we are striving.
You will be equally comfortable working with / designing on-prem or cloud-based solutions, and will have experience of overseeing critical 3rd-party integrations.
With an eye on emerging technologies, you will identify where the company will be able to benefit from the introduction of new technologies and techniques, where it would be most appropriate to re-
use technology that we currently have, and importantly, where it would NOT be appropriate to use certain technologies.
You will be confident discussing solutions not only with the development teams, but with varying levels of stakeholder up to HOD level, and will be seen as a go-
to person within the department, who is a champion for technical excellence and best practice. You will need to foster architectural thinking, and build champions in the teams.
You will own and be responsible for the technical documentation of both the existing systems, and any new systems that are created.
