This is an exciting opportunity to join Technology and Administration Solutions (TAS) UK, as a Calculation Analyst within the Business Solutions function in TAS Technology.
This role also offers a great development opportunity / next steps for a Senior Pensions Administrator who has a strong analytical and mathematical mindset to move into a more technical focused role.
The Calculation Analyst will be working alongside a number of skilled analysts (located on and offshore) who work on a large portfolio of DB occupational pension schemes.
As the TAS business continues its rapid growth in all areas (supporting some of the largest pension schemes in the country, supporting LifeSight, supporting some of the largest insurers in the pensions market and implementing our OneDB proposition) there is an opportunity to enhance the ways of working in the team and drive efficiencies.
This role can be based in our Redhill, Welwyn Garden City or Leeds office with flexible homeworking as per our new hybrid working model.
Analysing business requirements, Trust Deed and Rules and other scheme documentation and planning an appropriate software solution with a focus on accuracy, build efficiency and maintainability.
Working closely with your fellow developers and utilise software design patterns appropriate to the task at hand.
Foster a culture of quality and instil behavioural required for success.
Interact with third parties such as the scheme actuary and solicitors to clarify complex and technical queries.
Coding and rigorously testing the supporting software.
Taking ownership of given tasks, planning implementation approach and managing deadlines appropriately.
Providing an efficient, professional service to meet all client needs and to promote the Willis Towers Watson brand.
Produce detailed calculation proforma from first principles and supporting automation test packs.
Collaborate with data migration analysts to ensure consistency between the data and calculation project streams.
Work towards developing and optimizing end to end automation.
Build on technical expertise / capabilities / skills and contribute towards measurable improvements
Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and single team culture to increase end to end automation efficiencies and results
Working knowledge of MS Excel & Word.
Good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize own workload.
Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
Background in UK occupational pensions.
Skilled at working with stakeholders to drive decision points and resolutions.
Self-starter attitude and ability to work well within ambiguity.

Working knowledge of Unix-based operating systems, use of the command line and SQL is advantageous but not mandatory as training will be provided.
