The Opportunity

This is an exciting key role created in the Technology Practice in line with Chubb’s ambitious growth plans in the UKI and Technology space.

The successful candidate will underwrite multiple lines of business, Property, Casualty, Global Terrorism, Professional indemnity and Cyber for both indigenous and multinational Technology clients.

You will join the Technology Team in the National Underwriting Centre, a centre of excellence for service and technical knowledge.

The successful candidate will contribute to achievement of NUC, Technology, Branch and Corporate Goals relating to profit, renewal retention, rate, exposure, service and producer / client relations.

The Candidate will obtain and analyse account-specific information (including but not limited to location and loss information, financials, loss control reports) and demonstrate the ability to deal with the full renewal and policy-change cycle for an allocation of Technology business.

Your Responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to :

  • Development, growth, profitability and service of existing clients and cross sell, account rounding and up selling. Responsible for service on UKI retained accounts and application of rate and growth strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with a panel of brokers, ensuring our product and proposition is communicated, and working with Branch Underwriters and BDMs to ensure proactive retention, account rounding, upselling and cross-sell opportunities
  • Review assigned renewals to determine renewal timeline, request renewal information, listing specific information required.
  • Complete initial analysis of claims data and review policies for accuracy. Obtains and analyses account-specific information and ensures accuracy and compliance with underwriting strategy and authority.

    Determine pricing strategy for renewal and attend renewal meetings for all allocated accounts.

  • To work in conjunction with the NUC team, Technical Team, Technology Practice and Chubb Overseas General to ensure efficient working practices are in place and adhered to as per established package underwriting guidelines
  • To work within the framework of the Chubb Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, Peer Review and within the framework of the protocols established by the Company.
  • Forward clearly documented and complete instructions to Ops for booking and issuance, pass information in a timely manner to meet local service standards (Contract Certainty)
  • Act as a referral point to the underwriters in the team, coaching and supporting their development
  • Project based work in line with Product development and promoting Industry Practices.
  • Qualifications

    What skills & experience are required?

  • Able to underwrite multiline accounts
  • Works within delegated underwriting authority
  • Expertise in risk analysis, interpretation and analysis of claims, and appropriate deployment of loss control resources
  • Experience of underwriting and servicing multinational clients, and has knowledge of programme structure and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels and develop broker relationships.
  • A strong track record of service orientation and teamwork
  • The aptitude to attract and retain profitable business
  • Must have strong interpersonal, written communication skills and focus on quality.
  • The ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment in conjunction with service staff, risk engineering and field marketing claims employees.
  • Experience of the Technology Sector is preferred.
  • ACII qualified or working towards is preferred
