What you'll do

This position takes responsibility for Purchasing, together with leading and developing the team. Key features of the role will be measured by challenging KPI’s on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, to ensure we meet the demands of our customers and control the internal processes.

Developing good internal relationships to continue cross functional activities is essential as is the ability to take a lead with maintaining supplier adherence to our requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 8, responsible for Direct & Indirect Purchasing.
  • Responsible for the daily operation of a fast moving Purchasing function with a global footprint.
  • Define & develop reporting KPI’s to ensure that financial and operational targets are achieved.
  • Through in-depth understanding and collaborative cross functional ways of working, ensure accurate controls and reports are in place.
  • To continue the development of a functionally strong team.
  • Responsible for departmental spend across both indirect and direct commodities.
  • Personal responsibility for a portfolio of direct materials.
  • Work closely with other departments on a pan European and global basis to proactively identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Developing external capability to support strategic out-sourcing opportunities, development of new products and associated new sources of supply.
  • Project management of purchasing activities relating to new product development and engineering changes.
  • Develop initiatives for improvement to continually enhance all aspect of the supply chain function through strong leadership and clear actions.
  • Work in co-operation with commercial and operational functions to ensure supply chain is optimised from suppliers through internal operations on to end customers.
  • Accountability for the function ensuring safety and performance targets and 5S standards are achieved
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant discipline or a related subject.
