As part of a team of QA Engineers spread across two locations in the UK, the role of the NFR Test Engineer is to provide expertise and support the development teams in the delivery of the core transactional systems both across the legacy LAMP stack and the new Long Term Technical Platform (LTTP) running on a Wintel stack in Azure.

The role will help support the existing QA and test services as well as help drive change in this fast-evolving Fintech company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the developers to define NFRs highlight deficiencies in the NFR framework used and resolve in negotiation with the relevant engineering teams.
  • Ensure consistent project execution and repeatability in test.

  • Test script development define and build automated test scripts using standard tools (eg Selenium, SonarQube etc)
  • Testing of NFRs using the Test Automation Framework, reporting on success and failure rates.
  • Develop NFR test plans as part of the agile methods used by the company. Define with the senior stakeholders relevant KPIs for test quality etc.
  • Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement.
  • Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience in the test and QA space with a demonstrable record of defining and implementing NFR Test frameworks
  • Very strong experience of the major test tools, such as Selenium, SonarQube etc.
  • End to end experience (minimum three years) of CI / CD practices and tools (eg Jenkins, GIThub etc)
  • Performance / load modelling required behaviours for performance, load, etc.
  • Scripting scenario definition and test scripting and test execution
  • Performance / load analysis working with dev to identify root cause and implement solution
  • Experience of working in a Fintech or similar company)
  • Working in a team of QA engineers, working with off-shore teams in a multi-disciplinary organization
  • Writing NFR test scripts
  • Test automation principles use of Jenkins, GITHub
  • Cloud technologies, such as Azure DevOps tooling
  • Strong technical scripting capabilities (eg PowerShell)
  • Test tools such as Selenium, SonarQube etc
  • Test scripting using Gherkin or equivalent
  • Scripting scenario definition and test scripting
  • Execution test execution
  • Performance / load analysis working with dev to identify root cause and implement solution
  • Application and web server knowledge especially Apache and IIS
  • PHP, Java testing experience a must.

  • Must have the desire to work on new, innovative, cutting edge technologies
