Restaurant Supervisor The Ryder Grill & Kitchen

This is to include Breakfast and weekends with various starting times from 6.30am

Are you looking for the next step in your Restaurant Management career? The Belfry Hotel & Resort has a new opportunity for a Restaurant Supervisor to join our team in the Ryder Grill & Kitchen our rosette standard restaurant.

Ideally, you will have at least 18 months' experience working as a team leader in a high-end high street restaurant or hotel restaurant environment and be ready to take additional responsibilities for management duties of the Ryder Grill and Kitchen.

Your new department

The Ryder Grill & Kitchen is a 220 seat restaurant that offers a number of menu options, ranging from our stunning one rosette À la Carte menu to chefs table and a Sunday Carvery.

This restaurant runs at a very high level and can have up to 300 guest in any one evening. The restaurant requires a high attention to detail and the best possible guest service coupled with outstanding dining options.

What your day will look like

By night the Ryder Grill and Kitchen is a busy restaurant environment, as a Supervisor, you will take responsibility for managing an area of the restaurant alongside other managers or on quieter nights full responsibility for the restaurant in your managers absence, you will ensure that our team WOW in their service delivery and get to show the guest fantastic wine and culinary knowledge to help the guests evening be one to remember.

You will be a natural leader who enjoys training and developing the team in service delivery and helps the team to progress into their next natural role ensuring we build a strong management pipeline for the resort.

You will take a lead on the floor to ensure that the department is operational with consistency, you will delegate and manage your team and move yourself to areas that need support.

Your role will also see you managing guest expectations through service delivery and training and developing to deliver outstanding service for every guest, alongside your managerial duties such as cashing up, stock control, kitchen checks etc.

Duties of the role

  • To work with the Restaurant Manager in establishing and implementing standards of performance within the Restaurant
  • and ensuring all services offered are of the highest standard.

  • To ensure that all new staff are fully briefed and trained before commencing their first shift.
  • Carry out stock takes as required.
  • Ensure alongside the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef that all stock / menu items are available at all times.
  • Working closely with the Food & Beverage & Deputy Manager ensuring that costs and expenditure are controlled at all
  • levels.

  • To create an environment which promotes employee morale and encourages the Team to have pride and commitment in
  • their area of work.

    Working Hours & Holiday Entitlement

    40 Hour Contract, your working week will be five days out of seven that includes all breakfast shifts and some weekends

    Monday Sunday Approximately

    Holiday entitlement 28 days which rises to 31 after two calendar years and 33 after five calendar years’ service
