How can we pilot efficiently a large number of trucks in Europe ensuring that all customers receives their parcel on time?
The European Relay Operations Center (ROC) is the central control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon's European Transportation network.
This team unable smooth domestic and inter-country transportation movement for European geographies. ROC is responsible for the performance management but also the planning and scheduling of all trucks across our warehouses network in Europe.
This management is done based on various factors such as forecast, historical trends, vehicles capacity and carrier capabilities.
ROC plays a critical role in ensuring that Amazon's European transportation network is working efficiently and thereby has direct impact on Amazon's ability to serve customers on time.
The ROC Regional Manager manages a European Region and a large scale 24x7 frontline operations team for both Inbound and Outbound transportation and lead resolution of any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity, on a fast-
paced environment. That would require to :
Identifies and evaluates potential risks / obstacles with minimal direction from senior managers. Determines appropriate corrective action.
Independently identify up-stream and down-stream operational problems and escalate them to the appropriate resource before they become project threatening.
Design and implement the KPI’s that will ensure the correct execution of the strategy
Brings a department and company-wide perspective to decision making. Strong business acumen. Including understanding how to calculate high-
level ROI and partner with finance to complete a cost-benefit analysis.
Design, develop and deploy EU scale projects.
Deliver on project; compiles project schedule and recommends optimal resource usage.
Can properly prioritize competing projects across departments. Focus is on projects for an entire group or department, or a major piece of a larger cross-company product or project.
Gathers requirements from appropriate business owners, design clear and detailed functional specifications, prioritizes features, and drives scoping as needed.
Serves as escalation point for Operations Managers
Makes the right tradeoffs between schedule, resources, and scope in order to deliver on project; compiles project schedule and recommends optimal resource
Masters (MS) in Operations Research, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
Proficiency in Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps)
Strong analytical background; comfortable in ambiguous situations.
Solid experience with concepts such as forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics, delivery performance, negotiation, inventory management, S&OP
Strong managing experience of large teams across different levels of expertise
Ability to travel in EU
fluency in English
Master in Business Administration
Additional European language : German, Polish, Spanish, French or Italian
Experience in using SQL and databases in a business environment
