The Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering (CUE), based in the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering (EEE) at the University of Strathclyde is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow to participate in a multi-partner collaborative research project focused on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection processes for metal joining and additive manufacturing processes.
This is an exciting and dynamic role, with access to the very latest equipment for high build rate additive manufacture, and you will be working with a wider team in the UK and Internationally who are at the cutting edge of this new technology.
Our laboratory facilities are second to none, and you will have access to other world leading facilities at our partner institutions.
Daily activities within the role will include collecting and interpreting sensor data (e.g. ultrasonic) from a variety of test specimens, interfacing to instrumentation and interpreting experimental results in the context of NDT.
You will take a leading role in developing new concepts in ultrasonic phased array inspection and communicating and translating these concepts to the wider internal research team as well as external partners.
You will have experience in industrial robotic programming (e.g. with KUKA robots) and automation, combined with programming experience in C#, C++ and Matlab.
You will have excellent software and or electrical and mechanical engineering skills.
