What you will be doing

Prepare and coordinate conceptual / FEED designs with a view to the preparation of safe, practical and economic designs in accordance with current legislation and Client standards.

Prepare and coordinate detailed designs in accordance with current standards and codes including calculations, design risk assessments and sufficiently detailed sketches for the preparation of working drawings.

Project management duties including design programmes and commercial control.

Support the business sustainability objectives by reducing carbon through efficient design.

Determining and agreeing budgets with the business’s design managers and project teams.

Represent the design department when necessary at internal and external meetings.

Undertake site visits when appropriate.

Ensure that chargeable work is identified and evaluated including the preparation of adequate records of time spent.

Collate feedback on designs and saved in accordance with procedure partake in lessons learned meetings.

Coach individual staff members.

Check the design work of other staff members and external designers.

Who we are looking for

Professionally qualified Engineer (or working towards if applying as a Design Engineer)

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering

Experience in water or energy sector is ideal but not essential.

Experience of interfacing with clients, coordinating & developing solutions
