About Technology Chief Controls Office

As a function within the wider CCO, Technology Chief Controls Office (TCCO) exist to protect Barclays in conjunction with our colleagues in Technology and Global Information Security, and to enable Barclays to take an appropriate amount of risk to support our Technology strategy and deliver digital solutions for our customers.

TCCO is a fully global risk community, with around 200 colleagues embedded in our businesses and functions across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas.

We support the business in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Barclays information assets and critical infrastructure, and ensure our customers can trust Barclays to protect their sensitive information.

The purpose of the role is to manage and support the delivery of Group Innovation Office (GIO) Governance and Control activities within Barclays.

What will you be doing?

  • Co-ordinate and work with Innovation Control Group SME’s ensuring that Experiments, Proof of Concepts, Pilots and other engagements with third parties are appropriately risk assessed by Control SME’s.
  • Support GIO management in the creation of Group Innovation focused Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), including the design of robust technology controls and the accurate and complete assessment of risk.
  • Support effective RCSA remediation action management to improve the overall GIO control environment.
  • Support maintenance of the GIO Risk Framework and Risk & Control Assessment toolset.
  • Support Group Innovation teams with Regulatory, Compliance, Internal Audit and External Audit reviews.
  • Perform independent risk reviews and quality assurance of risk assessments, including reviews of all the programmes under Innovation work stream
  • Identification and escalation of risk issues within the organisation and supporting the mitigation of residual risk.
  • Produce and communicate MI to provide GIO teams and relevant stakeholders with a view of GIO risk & control performance.
  • What we’re looking for :

  • Understanding of risks and controls within an Innovative / Technology environment
  • Knowledge of Operational Environment and Processes
  • Strong experience in a risk management-related role
  • Experience in Risk and Control self-assessments
  • Skills that will help you in the role :

  • Big Four technology internal audit experience
  • Governance and Control experience within Financial Services industry
  • Understanding of technology and data including information security, information risk management and data privacy
  • Experience with process mapping tools e.g Visio
