    Introduction to the role :

    The successful candidate will have an opportunity to join a successful established Real Estate team and develop their own practice and skills to grow and develop with the team over the coming years.

    The role will involve a combination of : -

  • Supporting senior lawyers on complex, market leading transactions specifically in the logistics sector;
  • End-to-end Responsibility for their own case-load of transactions specifically acquisitions and disposals and landlord and tenant lease negotiations; and
  • Supervision and support of junior colleagues on more straightforward transactions.
  • The successful candidate will develop their own relationships with and ultimately become a trusted adviser to the team’s clients.

    Introduction to the team :

    The Manchester Real Estate team is part of a national property group with further teams based in London and Liverpool. Within this group are specialist teams dealing with Real Estate Finance, Planning, Real Estate Due Diligence, Real Estate Litigation, Construction and Residential Property.

  • The Manchester core property team has a diverse range of clients including national operators in the logistics, automotive and retail sectors;
  • property developers and investors; FCA registered friendly societies; and many more.

    We are ranked Tier 3 in the latest editions of Legal 500 and Chambers.

    Key responsibilities :

    Advising a broad range of clients, including occupiers, property developers, owners and financiers, on matters including : -

  • Acquisitions and disposals of investment property
  • Negotiation of leases and associated landlord and tenant documents (acting for both landlords and tenants)
  • Dealing with development and requisite documentation
  • Property portfolio management including licences, consents and granting of underleases
  • Reviewing, reporting and advising on title matters
  • Advising on heads of terms
  • Providing property support to other teams within the firm such as Corporate and Insolvency and Restructuring.
  • What we are looking for

    Essential :

  • Law Degree or Equivalent
  • Previous experience in Commercial Property
  • Landlord and Tenant experience
  • Demonstrable experience in some (but not necessarily all) of the other areas listed in the job description
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn and develop knowledge and skills in all areas outlined in the job description.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of clients, colleagues and others
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Adherence to guidelines and procedures
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Enthusiasm to promote Hill Dickinson and the Property department through networking and business development activities
