The two main strands to our business are Avenue HQ, a national leading flexible workspace provider, and Your Local Social, a chain of bars and restaurants with sites in Liverpool and Leeds.

Your Local Social currently has three bar / restaurants across the country, as well as an incredible rooftop bar in Leeds.

Our menus are as unique as the neighbourhoods that we’re located in and we champion the best of local produce to create dishes that everyone can enjoy that are best washed down, in our humble opinion, with cans of community craft, home filtered cold brew and the best of regional spirits though maybe not all at once!

Job Overview

This role is key to supporting the ongoing growth of The Avenue Group. The individual will be a trusted member of the Senior Leadership Team and having a real impact on the strategic direction of the Group.

The role will be responsible for the Group’s commercial operations and financial data and controls. You will ensure that effective measures are implemented to improve revenue streams and to deliver timely, accurate and compliant reporting of actual, forecast and budgeted financial performance.

You will develop a deep understanding of the business, its operations and commercial objectives, and support the team to achieve the desired growth.

You will have a successful track record of managing commercial operations within a medium-size or high growth business and have the passion to support The Avenue Group through its future growth.

  • Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements across all revenue streams and help the group increase their market share, turnover and profitability
  • Ensure that the most efficient and effective processes and control systems are in place and adhered to throughout the Group.
  • Ensure the most efficient use of all resources including staff
  • Manage the Group’s financial affairs and assist with the production of management accounts including group forecasts and budgets
  • Analyse data to drive commercial decisions
  • Produce monthly Board reports including in-depth analysis of performance
  • Manage supply chain and oversee payments
  • Oversee out-sourced payroll across the Group for hourly and pro-rata salaried staff, including the processing of payments
  • Ensure completion of PAYE, VAT and other statutory returns alongside the finance team
  • Efficiently manage internal and external contacts to ensure company expenditure is authorised and accounted for
  • Ensure the overall smooth running of the company’s financial administration and its cost-efficiency
