About the Role
The company provides support for people with a variety of needs including but not limited to Vascular Dementia, challenging behaviours and mental health conditions in older adults.
You'll play a key part in delivery personal care for service users in their homes. This will include personal care, record keeping, and medication administering.
Job Duties :
Administering medication
Making meals
Helping with personal care such as washing, dressing, hair, nail, mouth, and skin care, and eating and drinking
Escorting clients to an activity or a medical appointment
Chatting and engaging with relatives and providing care updates
Companionship communicating and taking an interest in your client’s needs
Errands such as shopping
Assisting with paperwork such as paying bills
Ensure vulnerable people are safeguarded from abuse and to report any instances of alleged abuse which you witness or become aware of.
To enable independence wherever possible and encourage motivation, to avoid dependency.
To prepare food and drink, being aware of people’s choice, likes / dislikes, nutritional needs, and cultural requirements.
To provide light general household duties, including housework and laundry, as detailed in the care plan.
Where people do not have capacity to make some decisions in their life you will offer support, guidance and advice that is in their best interest and follow the relevant processes under the Mental Capacity Act.
Job Requirements
Clear written and good verbal communication skills
Genuine compassion and earnest desire to help people
Patience in both words and actions
Punctual and able to manage workload
Ability to give high-quality care
Previous experience as a domiciliary worker will be an added advantage
Relevant certifications in care but training will be provided.
