What you’ll do

As Business Development Representative (BDR) you will be responsible for developing new business as well as maintaining and driving sales at accounts to achieve efficient and profitable sales of the company’s products to targeted levels.

Assist the team to optimise existing accounts and prospects. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new accounts.

Interface with other departments as needed to drive business within accounts and resolve any issues that may arise. Provide direction / assignments to Account Executive team to help develop sales business.

How you’ll do it

  • Demonstrate an ability to build and / or establish strong relationships with new accounts and within major existing accounts including product managers, buyers, planners, etc.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profit goals established by upper management
  • Develop and Execute upon business plans with Business Development Manager, NAM or Sales Director to meet those goals
  • Strive to increase net sales by reducing Returns and Allowances
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and motivate sales team to perform their duties
  • Assist Business Development Managers, National Account Managers, and Sales Directors with inside or outside sales calls, website and catalog analysis or store visits
  • Collaborate with entire sales team including channel support and other BDRs / BDMs to ensure best practices and information are shared to maximize results and achieve goals
  • Assist customers with all account related questions, issues, or concerns. Provide accurate, timely information to the customers regarding inquiries such as products, pricing, and quotes
  • Conduct weekly reviews of sales, returns (RMA’s) and allowances (R&A), quotes, promotions, sell through, inventory management, forecasts, and any other account activities that will impact financial results for the account(s), and report findings to NAM / Sales Director

  • Provide customer recaps for all meetings and take a leadership role to ensure all action items are executed upon including delegation of assignments to account representatives
  • Assist sales team with all account related questions, issues, and concerns
  • Complete the minimum number of outbound calls or other sales initiatives to accounts and / or end users each day as directed by the Business Development Manager / NAM / Sales Director
  • Follow the sales team’s procedures for managing and maintaining opportunity pipeline, quotes, bids, etc. and be prepared to present that information when requested
  • Keep a monthly recap of sales calls, including potential opportunity worth in pounds, and be prepared to present that information when requested
  • Analyse and understand industry market trends, competition, products, and pricing that may impact sales efforts and communicate this information to all sales management and other departments as necessary
  • Assist in optimising profitability at each assigned account
  • Conduct and / or coordinate sales and training meetings as required. Attend all required meetings
  • Review and analyse daily sales and compare actual v. projected / plan results and be prepared to present that information when requested
  • Provide positive reinforcement and constructive criticism to team members and escalate any issues as they arise
  • Travel to tradeshows and customer sites required. Depending on assignment, international travel may be required
  • Fulfill responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system
  • Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001, understand and fully support ISO system
  • What you’ll need

  • 5 GCSE’s at grade A to C including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Excellent phone skills and etiquette required
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% international and / or domestic
  • Depending on channel, bilingual skills may be required
  • What you’ve done

    Experience should include :

  • One to three years’ experience in a sales capacity or equivalent position. Depending on channel, previously industry experience may be required
  • Proven track record of sales growth and / or prospecting
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy is required
