Job Description
The purpose of this role is to lead a team of analysts who produce underwriting and exposure data and MI for the business.
This is a leadership role and strong underwriting knowledge is required to ensure the data and MI is suitable and utilised across the Commercial and Speciality Lines business.
The person will manage a team of 4 analysts and will be accountable for producing exposure information for reinsurance purposes across Commercial and Speciality Lines, ensure Product Governance MI is produced as appropriate and producing underwriting insight for decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead of team of 4 analysts who produce underwriting and exposure data
Accountable to ensure exposure data is appropriate produced for reinsurance purposes for all products across Commercial and Speciality Lines
Proactively supports Product Governance to ensure appropriate product MI is utilised for decision making
Identifies opportunities to improve qualify and consistency of data for portfolio management purposes
Go to person for underwriting data requests
Proactively identify better ways of working and opportunities for automation
Proactively complete analysis to make business improvement recommendations for your area
Designing and producing solutions for stakeholders in appropriate formats to support and inform business activities and decisions.
Managing relationships across Commercial Lines and stakeholder teams to achieve the best outcomes for Commercial Lines business
Functional / Technical Skills
Strong leadership skills, able to build a high performing team
Knowledge of insurance processes, data and management information, especially underwriting, portfolio management and exposure management
ACII qualified
Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
Strong experience of analysing insurance data
Experience of working with stakeholders at all levels
Must be self-motivated, pro-active, and able to use own initiative
Able to tell an unbiased story behind the data & present information to various stakeholders to drive decision making
Work as part of the wider team, sharing knowledge and expertise
Ability to build strong Stakeholder networks and be able to present to all business level Strong leadership skills, able to build a high performing team
The role will connect directly with the business on data and MI requests
