For many people, weddings are the happiest day of their life. They dream of it for years and share it with the people who are most important to them.

In the UK £6bn a year is spent on weddings and globally that figure stands at $300bn a year. Over 500,000 people get married each year in the UK alone, and almost everyone will at least attend a wedding.

Weddings play a big part in our lives, but making them happen is enormously painful. The whole experience is so stressful that 71% of people suffer from hair-loss, headaches, and sleep-loss.

It's a cruel and unfair trade; 13 months of pain to get your 1 big day.

It shouldn't be like this.

Since January 2020 we have been building our platform, our brand, and gaining traction amongst suppliers with 90 of the leading suppliers in the industry using our platform.

We have started connecting couples with suppliers and with your role, we are now looking to focus on this part of the business.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

You will be joining a small team with big ambitions as the first hire in the marketing team. You will be leading our efforts in everything we do on marketing, with a particular focus on customer acquisition.

You will be motivated by this prospect; being able to shape the company from an early stage and as a crucial part of its growth and success.

As we grow we expect you to grow with us; progressing in seniority and developing yourself as a leader.

Working closely with the CEO, freelancers, and expert advisors, you will be leading our efforts in taking our product to market.

You will be responsible for driving customer acquisition and the company hitting its growth targets. You will need to empathise with our customers, understand the journey they need to be taken on, and be driven to take them on it.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

You will :

  • Channel management : Work across our existing paid & organic channels including but not limited to Paid ads, website, emails, social media, and test new channels like Partnerships, influencer marketing etc.
  • Acquisition & optimisation : Be responsible for creating, developing and optimising every step of our acquisition funnel;
  • from couples making an enquiry through to booking.

  • SEO & organic content : Generate engaging and creative content across organic channels.
  • WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    You are / have :

  • An entrepreneurial self starter with a growth mindset and are obsessed with growth and building things while not being afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Experience working with marketing metrics (CPM, CPC, CPA, Open rate, Click through rate) with a data-driven, AB test approach.
  • Have a commercial mindset and ability to think strategically and adapt quickly.
  • Excellent writing skills and able to create engaging content.
  • A great communicator and truly are a team player.
  • You enjoy coming up with creative new ideas and can easily explain your rationale in a business sense.
  • At a minimum, you have :

  • Demonstrated a willingness to learn and improve yourself in your field.
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience in an entrepreneurial environment. A track record of thriving in a high growth startup would be a huge plus.
  • Basic design skills, i.e able to use Canva (or similar) to produce content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills. Ability to use data to make decisions and optimize campaign performance is in our company DNA.
