We are an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.

Through our work, we make a positive difference in the world.

How can we best work with you?? Whether you’re a parent, a carer, a student, or just have a busy lifestyle, it’s not always easy to commit to standard working hours.

At Arup you have access to a range of flexible working options including flexible start and finish times, working from home or working part-

time. If you're interested in any of these options, please let us know when you apply and we'll discuss how this could work in your role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a good knowledge of structural behaviour to join our Bridge, Civil Structures and Tunnels Group in our Solihull office.

We are currently working on the designs and assessments of a number of schemes in the UK and worldwide, such as Smart Motorways Projects (SMP), HS2 Phase 2a and 2b, HS2 Interchange Station, Canakkale bridge in Turkey, Kampala Flyovers in Uganda, Great Western Mainline electrification and Suurhoff Bridge strengthening in Amsterdam.

Our Group comprises over 50 engineers and technicians based in the Midlands Solihull office, which has nearly 750 staff in total, of which around 450 are in Infrastructure.

The group works in a dynamic environment, enabling staff to sit within the Group on Bridge, Civil Structures and Tunnel projects or relocate to work within multi-

disciplinary project teams as required. Working in a totally digital environment, we have interesting projects at all stages of design development from Concept Design, through Feasibility Stages to Detailed Design, and including the management of existing structural assets.

The successful candidate will provide sound technical contributions to our world class projects, including the design of bridges, tunnels and heavy civil engineering structures such as deep basements for underground railways.

They will also develop sustainable solutions for existing rail and highway structures that require capacity assessments, strengthening designs or modifications for future use.

Building on their developing technical basis, the successful candidate will be coordinating overall designs by interfacing with other infrastructure disciplines and communicating their designs through 3D BIM models and other digital media.
