Your Responsibilities :

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of medical affairs excellence within the regional CDMA organization to deliver business results and ensure effective deployment of Safety / Compliance / Governance standards across GSK’s CH business.

The is an individual contributor role as the incumbent will support the Regional Medical Affairs Lead and / or the Medical Affairs Director or Principal Medical Affairs Scientist in the delivery of annual goals and objectives.

This role collaborates with various business functions that rely on the CDMA functions to drive and implement medical affairs product strategies and deliverables, including Global R&D Category Leads, Regional Commercial Leads, Regional Commercial Operations Directors and GM’s, Safety, Legal, and Corporate Compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • With oversight from Regional Medical Affairs Lead and / or the Director or Principal Scientist, provide medical expertise to support brands / products within assigned therapeutic category and help execute the local tactical plan for medical-
  • marketing communications and other activities to achieve commercial and scientific objectives for the assigned therapeutic category / product portfolio.

  • Responsible for providing medical expertise to cross-functional team(s)
  • Achieve timely delivery of high quality medical communications plan components, such as publications, abstracts, scientific posters, medical trainings, and toolkits
  • Responsible for supporting commercial functions to develop appropriate concepts and consumer communications (including product claims innovation)
  • Substantiate claims for GSK-products. Based on clinical data and published literature, propose new claims for GSK-products in collaboration with the respective therapeutic category
  • Review and approve copies of promotional materials and other scientific communications to ensure scientific accuracy and consistency with product labelling
  • Assist senior personnel in defending GSK products from challenges from competitors and provide medical substantiation support to challenge competitors’ claims
  • Help support advocacy of assigned therapeutic area / brand(s) by assisting senior staff in recruiting and maintaining relationships with key external experts and scientific thought leaders
  • Provide medical input for local interactions with consumers, HCPs, including medical support of customer inquiries, as needed
  • Assist in the management of key vendors who support the development of the promotional medical activities
  • With oversight from Regional Medical Affairs Lead and / or the Director or Principal Scientist, responsible for implementation, training and oversight of medical governance framework including :
  • o Scientific engagement policies and practices

    o Review of promotional activities including copy review

    o Provide input to relevant medical information responses

    o Represent Medical Affairs as required

    o Develop local Medical Affairs SOPs as required

    o Partner with Pharmacovigilance to ensure GSK activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.

  • Assist in the implementation of local scientific educational programs, including help coordinating advisory boards and other interactions with key external experts
  • Responsible for representing GSK at external scientific events
  • Assist senior staff in developing high-quality relationships with KEEs in therapeutic areas of GSK interests.
  • Under the direction of the Regional Medical Affairs Lead and / or Director or Principal Scientist may support medical affairs activities in other countries within the designated geographic region
  • A strong commitment to achieving corporate objectives while maintaining high ethical, regulatory, and scientific standards is required.

    Basic qualifications :

    MSc - Biological sciences with ideally focus on medical sciences

  • Experienced OTC and / or ethical pharmaceutical professional possessing general knowledge of a medical affairs or clinical development role with exposure to claims development, substantiation, publication planning, and / or medical drug information.
  • Pharma experience with a successful track record of supporting products through the commercialization process.
  • Strong cooperation and teamwork with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Legal and other cross-functional partners.
  • Personal characteristics should include an understanding of teamwork, time management acumen, a willingness to learn, and ability to represent GSK CH’s products from medical standpoint.
  • Bright, positive, articulate, and creative, with excellent collaborative, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Preferred qualifications :

    PhD, PharmD, MD, DMD

    Medical affairs / medical marketing, clinical development experience a plus
