Why this role matters

You will be working in our agile software development team, helping us to meet our commitments by liaising with other areas of the business that we rely on to build and run our applications.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage these external dependencies on behalf of our sub-teams, ensuring that we get the best out of the rest of the business to deliver for our internal BT customers.

We primarily build innovative applications for the Network Operations Team based in Adhara, helping them work more efficiently and providing them with the information they need to keep BT's core networks and platforms running 24 / 7.

They are fantastic customers who we work with very closely, making it an extremely collaborative relationship where we support each other in trying to make the right things happen.

We expect you to have a real passion for technology and to value the exploration of new and better ways for working with the rest of the business.

The team needs to be able to continue to deliver reliable high quality applications and to be responsive to the changing requirements of our customers by focussing on activities that add real value and challenging inefficiencies and unnecessary demands on our time.

What you'll be doing

  • Incident Management - Support the team with the co-ordination of activities during incidents and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate Lead on new ways of working within Tools, Orchestration and Exposure
  • Architectural Collaboration Maintaining compliance with SALSA, ACF and Architecture Governance as appropriate
  • Security Facilitate adherence with BT Security SACS, Compliance and Consultation processes
  • Infrastructure Connectivity Support with application connectivity processes (SDIP, FireFlow, NAIF and Supportal)

  • The ability to set up and provide ongoing management of robust programme / project controls, methodologies and reporting measures as appropriate to the scale / complexity
  • Create and amend appropriate reporting to capture and review progress, and create updates and briefings as required
  • To communicate effectively with internal / external stakeholders and dependents
  • To affect, shape, and impact the decisions or actions of others in a timely manner. The ability to construct and present a concise, logical and persuasive argument, which influences others
  • Experience :

  • Demonstrable practical experience in delivery roles (Mandatory)
  • Stakeholder Management upto GM Level (Mandatory)
  • Completed / Working towards Bronze Learning Pathway in Technical Delivery Management (Preferred)
  • Basic understanding of key software development concepts TDD, Agile, Version Control, Automation and Lifecycles (Preferred)
  • Basic understanding of the hardware typically used to support software solutions (Preferred)
