About the role :

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an experienced Mechanical Technician reporting to the team leader / shift engineer.

Whilst working to a good standard of health and safety in a team working environment, you will deliver and follow routine planned maintenance schedules, reporting of duties and responding to breakdowns.

To be successful you will need :

  • Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (HNC / ONC level or equivalent)
  • Mechanical experience of heavy manufacturing industry and use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, lifting equipment for example
  • Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting
  • Previous experience Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems
  • Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
  • Previous experience of maintenance of Gearbox’s and coupling systems
  • Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
  • A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP’s, risk assessments, procedures and permit systems
  • Good level of problem solving awareness with an ability to fault find of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience of crane maintenance
