A great opportunity for a network engineer to join an expanding team within a highly complex environment. Based primarily in London and across the south of the UK, you will contribute to the installation and assessment of hardware / software-
based solutions across a range of technologies within our professional services business. In line with business requirements and industry standards, you will ensure implementation, migration, and compliance objectives are met, whilst client expectations / services are sustained.
What you'll be doing
Contribute to the technical delivery of multiple projects. This will include successful installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of technology-
based solutions which meet our clients’ business requirements.
Deliver technical assessment services, that include, Wireless LAN surveys, Network Readiness assessments, Site Audit’s, and Technology Lifecycle Management reports (TLM) etc.
Ensure client satisfaction by engaging with clients an assisting with fault-finding and break / fix functoriality at lower levels of complexity, and / or escalating where required.
Provide accountability and responsibility for quality of work, meeting required timelines, and project completion.
Create and maintain project related documentation ensuring accurate information is readily available
Maintain and develop knowledge for specific technologies and become a trusted engineer within defined environments.
Attend user groups, technical training, and seminars to increase knowledge in business relevant areas.
What would make you a good fit for this role?
Skills and Experience
Proven track record and hands on experience with configuring & troubleshooting hardware installations across a range of technologies
Certified to CCNA level (or higher / equivalent)
Ability to implement, and troubleshoot solutions using a range of technologies (including but not limited to);Cisco Routing & Switching Catalyst, ISR’s, Nexus series, Catalyst 9k series,Good understanding of Cisco Wireless fundamentals, including monitoring and configuring is desirableCisco ASA’s (w / Firepower), Checkpoint, and Palo AltoUnderstanding of IP Protocols BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF are keyPlus, practical experience with basic;
QoS, Multicast, & Risk assessment / management.
Deliverable knowledge of;Cisco IOS and IOS-XR (Plus others)Troubleshooting and assessment servicesScripting with Python and Linux Bash (or similar / equivalent)
Demonstrable communication and people skills, with an ability, capacity, and skill set to proactively meet set milestones
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, with an ability to explain concepts at all levels
Valuable experience working within groups of people
Currently hold, or willing to complete SC & DV Clearance checks where required
Valid UK Driving Licence and ability to travel is essential
Working hoursNormal working hours 09 : 00 - 17 : 30 Monday to Friday although, you will need to be flexible, available, and willing to work outside these hours when required.
LocationRole based primarily from Dimension Data, Waterfront office, Fleet, Hampshire GU51 3QT. However, there will be a requirement to work within our client’ environments and travel accordingly on a regular basis.
