Overview : The Associate Trader is primarily responsible for refining global trading systems and workflows as well as the timely and accurate execution of Fixed Income trades.
Additional responsibilities with time may include communicating and educating clients regarding Dimensional’s trading process and the overall trading environment.
This position is based in our London office.
Dimensional’s global trading team, consists of 20+ individuals who are responsible for executing and managing trades across the firm.
This position works to support the effective execution of Dimensional’s investment strategy, and to continually refine trading systems and work flows across the globe.
The ideal candidate for this position will come from a technical / development background who is looking to work at the forefront of designing an automation process for Fixed Income trading.

Development Responsibilities Conduct statistical analysis, deriving practical insights to optimize risk allocations.
Build statistical models to improve trading execution, including through the research, development and quantitative testing of novel order execution models.
Develop tools to facilitate trading operations and apply computational methods to optimize existing trading strategies.
Increase efficiency and enhance the firm's trading activities by reviewing and analysing statistical information and handling our risk and trade reconciliations.
Trading Responsibilities (post training completion) : Executing purchases and sales of Fixed Income securities as authorized by Portfolio Managers Partner with portfolio managers to enable trade execution to deliver optimal value to clients / fixed income portfolios Participate in the ongoing development of the thought leadership and scope of understanding within the DFA Investment Management community by challenging current thinking and searching out new opportunities to deploy the investment philosophy Work with the Sales teams to better understand, interpret and deliver to clients’ investment needs Interact as a seamless interface between the trading team and various internal and external firm constituencies.
Experience desired Must have experience in Python or a similar scripting language Experience in SQL and VBA strongly preferred Relevant financial industry experience, preferably with Fixed Income Previous exposure to other areas of capital markets through work in investment banking, consulting, asset management, hedge funds, or in another investing or finance capacity a plus Experience with financial systems including Bloomberg and Charles River & FX All a plus Proactive desire to learn Strong analytical skills Solid quantitative problem-
