An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Strategic Account Managers (SAM) within the EMEA Strategic Accounts team. The SAM will be responsible for a portfolio of around 8-

10 unique accounts that cross both the Energy and Petrochemical Industries. The ultimate goals of the SAM are to protect and grow the existing business within these accounts, whilst at the same time identify new opportunities to maximise the overall revenues within their portfolio.

The SAM is the main ICIS commercial contact point for their nominated accounts, having responsibility for selling a wide range of solutions from across both the Energy and Petchem markets.

They will co-ordinate with colleagues from other business functions within the Global ICIS team to deliver enhanced client value and unparalleled experience.

They will also develop deep long lasting relationships with clients and must have an eagerness understand customer’s business needs and the problems they are trying to solve with a view to position ICIS as a trusted advisor and thought leader.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales person or account manager who is looking for the next step in their career.

The role will involve a great deal of autonomy in order to plan and execute effective strategies that will facilitate the double-

digit growth across their account base. The ability to work on their own initiative is therefore crucial, as is the need for sound judgment.

However, full collaborative support will be given by colleagues, management and the wider ICIS team.

Particular requirements include :

  • Experience of effectively managing complex accounts with multiple products / sites / entities / usage / functions
  • Ability to think both analytically and creatively to identify new opportunities and overcome challenges, including tactical and strategic planning to maximise revenues
  • Confident and comfortable in a face-to-face environment with decision-makers at all levels (including C-Level). Demonstrated ability in communicating, presenting and influencing / negotiating credibly and effectively at all these levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative, combined with sound judgment
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability and maturity
  • Ideally, experience of both Petrochemical and Energy markets
