About the role :
Our Technical Field Managers are the core of our work and actively manage and lead our teams of technical staff to safely implement our life saving mine clearance and EOD projects.
They must be willing to lead from the front, responsible for the day-to-day management of our technical teams often in remote locations and being involved in all aspects of MAG’s lifesaving work, including administration, procurement, reporting and planning.
The Zimbabwe TFM role is based for the majority of the time in remote field locations and therefore the ability to work autonomously and with demonstrable people management skills will be essential for this role.
The life-saving impact the work has on local communities is very real, and rewarding. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in MAG’s life-saving work on a day-to-day basis and make a difference in Zimbabwe.
The TFM will be based at MAGs field camp during deployment cycles, which is in Mudzi District, Mashonaland East.
About you :
You must hold a recognised EOD / demining qualification or have significant experience in the technical and operational management and leadership of Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) activities.
Technical knowledge of mines / SALW / unexploded ordnance and mine clearance techniques, including new developments is essential.
This role requires the post holder to spend most of their time working in an environment with few amenities, and as the lead technical member of staff in the programme, the successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrable experience in leading, motivating, managing and training a diverse team.
Previous experience of working in an international capacity is essential for this role.
