More about the role :
Support the Product Owner and other business partners by advising on the practicability of solution alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities and providing recommendations
Work with the Software Engineering Manager, Scrum Master, Test Engineers and Software Engineers as a part of an agile team
Undertake all roles required by the development team to design, build and deploy bespoke applications in line with business needs and priorities
Ensure that all of your work is completed in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-
for purpose, can be efficiently supported
Contribute to post implementation reviews to incorporate findings into future work
Provide 3rd line support to the applications, including rota based out of hours support
Look out for new technologies and use them when they fit
Take responsibility, be responsible for the issue and resolve them by identifying and working with the relevant individuals
Reflect constructively and remain positive when faced with setbacks and continue to work towards a solution. Consider the impact of decisions and reviews decision as required
Take advantage of every opportunity to communicate relevant information remaining mindful of the audience (e.g. translate complex / technical issues to meet the audience's competency level)
What we’re looking for :
Track record in agile development of software using the appropriate tools
Experience with application and database technologies and how they support specific business functions and provide commercial benefits
Excellent knowledge of SOLID principles and design patterns
Understanding of CI / CD pipelines and why they are important
Ability to estimate effort for the completion of User Stories
The importance of the customer through gaining feedback and using it as a basis for decision-making
What tools you will use :
KAFKA as a messaging broker
JAVA, multi-threading and caching techniques
Containers specifically docker and Kubernetes container management
REST architectures and microservices architectures
JSON payload structure, JSON schemas, validating a JSON structure against its schema
JUNIT testing frameworks
