Technical Artist

We are currently looking for a capable,experienced Technical Artist to join our Dirt team. At Codemasters we areknown for creating some of the most cutting-edge and visceral game experiencesand central to this success is the technical art direction of the studio.

Perhaps you have had a year or two inthe games industry out of University, either as an under-grad or following acareer change, and you have discovered your talent for technical art.

Ifso, you could have the opportunity to work with some of the industry’sbest as well as some of its future stars (like you!) in an established, fun andhighly supportive team.

This would be a great steppingstonetoward a Tech Art career with us here at Codies. We love to develop talentinternally and with an enviable and varied tech art capability, you will have afantastic opportunity to learn and grow.

You will work under the direction ofthe Tech Art experienced team members and other key stakeholders to support artpipelines, workflows and processes to deliver streamlined art production andjaw-dropping visual quality.

You will also take shared responsibility for improving art, characters andanimation pipelines and workflows for cutting-edge console games and creatingtools to support the art team.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Be a key conduit between the programming and art disciplines, translating the needs of the art team into practical, programmable solutions
  • Assist in our characters and animation pipelines for streamlined production and jaw-dropping visual quality
  • Unreal Editor knowledge
  • Proficiency in programming skills to create integrated and standalone tools for the art team :
  • C++; C#; Python; Maxscript

  • Knowledge of Visual Studio; Perforce
  • Support the Technical Art Direction by providing technical documentation
  • Ability to work autonomously to complete tasks, own updates and share the results with the team manager
  • Help bring new techniques into the studio by staying alert and keeping direct communication with users and being responsive to updates and new needs
  • It would be great if you have :

  • Knowledge of Houdini and VEX language
  • Pycharm; Qt; PyQt
  • Experience and knowledge in Facial Animation
  • Knowledge of Photogrammetry
