Now is a great time to join Virgin Media as a Senior Proposition Manager within our wider mobile team in the Consumer function to drive meaningful value through the proposition portfolio.

This is a a great opportunity to own the opportunity to own the proposition strategy for high profile industry shaping consumer products & services as well as developing customer value propositions for Virgin Mobile and Media including the launch of 5G.

Role purpose

We are looking for a talented commercial professional that is looking for a challenging role in a fast-moving, progressive and collaborative working environment.

Our function acts as the architect of our proposition development to drive meaningful revenue growth through building customer value and loyalty.

The team works cross-functionally to identify new and exciting propositions and products to bring into our portfolio of profit-maximising products and bundles.

Our core KPIs are to drive customer satisfaction, revenue in an efficient manner that maximises operating cash.

The role

Working within the wider Mobile & FMC function as well as Commercial and the other Product divisions, this role is responsible for working how we build market leading propositions into our portfolio.

Key to the role will be the ability to identify new opportunities, create customer value propositions, business case them and deliver them to enable Virgin Media to meet mobile volume, revenue growth and OCF targets.

The objective of the role is to ensure that all our propositions help to build customer value over and above our core product offering and drive market appeal and customer satisfaction in life.

You will be charged with bringing Virgin Media’s suite of offerings in line with market expectation working internally and with Virgin Media’s partners.

You will manage a Propositions Development Manager who will work with you to develop the portfolio and optimise their performance in life driving revenue and OCF.

Key accountabilities

  • Accountable for propositions through strategy development, feasibility assessment, delivery, in-life management and migration / retirement.
  • Responsible for creating a strategic fact base utilising consumer, customer, market & industry insight in order to develop propositions rooted in creating customer value
  • Strong awareness of all commercial targets and a focus to ensure these are met through our propositions.
  • Monitor in life volume performance across Virgin Media channels and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Identify customer needs, opportunities and develop propositions that meet these needs driving new acquisition and greater customer loyalty.
  • Management of a Propositions Development Manager tasked with supporting you to deliver the portfolio of propositions.
  • Work closely with technical areas and business analysts to document detailed proposition requirements and fully understand the technical solution and any constraints.
  • Create business cases for any new propositions in conjunction with Commercial and Finance Teams. Present the benefits of all activity and be prepared to gain senior management approval to deliver new propositions.
  • Lead on coordination of launch GTM activity, working cross functionally to formulate a comprehensive, consistent and high impact plan.
  • Collaborate with Cable commercial teams to ensure wider product and proposition updates consider the Mobile customer base, revenue and future opportunities.
  • Ownership of targets and roadmap to support these targets
  • Essential skills, knowledge and experience

  • Strong commercial acumen and detailed understanding of the industry and key issues affecting our business
  • Experience in designing research to help inform approach and product plans
  • Adept at operating in ambiguity and stepping outside the status quo with bold and original ideas that create growth
  • Ability to see beyond the task to the overall purpose and engage people around a strategy, creating an energising and rewarding environment to work in
  • Empathetic, approachable, and fair in dealings with colleagues at all levels demonstrates a strong team mentality and able to build and maintain open and honest communication at all levels
  • Ability to exercise judgement to make timely and sound decisions regarding highly complex and broad scope issues as they relate to both people and the business
  • Ability to lead and take responsibility and ownership of matters delegating, constructively managing conflicting priorities under pressure, and maintaining a professional and positive manner to enable teams to deliver results
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills showing empathy, approachability and a fair considered approach when dealing with colleges
  • An attitude that reflects Virgin Media’s culture and promotes creativity, optimism, zest and considered risk taking to deliver simple and credible solutions
  • Ability to see beyond the task and engage people around a strategy, creating an energising and rewarding environment to work in
  • Line management experience a plus but not essential
  • Prior cable, telecoms, Pay TV or mobile experience is a plus but not key for this role
