For our new restaurant in Battersea Power Station, we are currently looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team and maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant - which is a fundamental part of the 'The Roti King' experience.

Your responsibilities will include collecting used glasses, cutlery, plates, and utensils, loading the dishwashing machines, and organizing washed items.

Roti King was founded in 2014, and - what's in a name we create authentic Malaysian street food including the very popular, freshly-made Roti Canai, from our restaurant in Euston, London.

The menu originates from Ipoh, the culinary home of Malaysian Cuisine, and has been brought to the UK by the original founding family behind the famous Gopal’s Corner, Malaysia.

With a loyal cult following, and over 30,000 followers on Instagram, Roti King is now ready to open in Battersea, South London.

The site in Circus West Village will be overlooking the River Thames and sits next to Apple’s European Headquarters and other restaurants such as Gordon Ramsey’s Street Pizza, and Megan’s & Cinnamon Kitchen.

What will you be doing?

collecting used dishes from service and kitchenware from the dining and kitchen areas. Prewashing and loading and unloading them from the dishwashing machines.

store the cleaned equipment appropriately.

ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours.

set up and sanitize the kitchen area / workstations before the meal preps begin and assist the Chef(s) if required.

maintain stock of cleaning supplies, organized, and report any technical / performance issues of the dishwashing machines.

keep the workspace clean, you will also remove garbage regularly.

support the kitchen team with the receiving of goods.

support the team with the organization and maintenance of storage areas and common areas.

What do you bring to the table?

You are full of energy and have a positive attitude that is contagious.

Work experience in a similar role would be great but is not a requirement. Hard work and enthusiasm are equally important!

You can follow instructions and help with various tasks as they pop up.

You have attention to detail and sanitation rules.

You are flexible in working hours, which means you will also be working during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

You can communicate clearly in English.
