Americas Benefits Lead

The role will be based in : North Wales, Philadelphia or Raleigh, North Carolina with the option of 40% of time home based.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Global Head of Benefits, this role will lead the Americas region for Benefits, Wellbeing Strategy and Initiatives.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building comprehensive benefits and Wellbeing programs in line with our total reward and people strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities

Including but not limited to :

  • Develops, recommends and implements health, life, vision, dental, flexible spending accounts and short and long-term disability insurance programs to provide employees with options suited to their needs.
  • Participates in development of benefits strategy; compares plan design and rates with

  • Lead the open enrolment process from Performance and Reward's perspective, including the development of timelines, communication plan utilizing various media, system updates, coordinating with brokers, vendors and reporting
  • Oversight of vendor relationships, including sophisticated vendor management, with all health and well-being vendors. Ensures exemplary vendor performance through regular status meetings, performance reviews, performance guarantees and audits.
  • Partners with benefits team / vendors to identify trends and cost savings opportunities, as well as opportunities to improve the health outcomes of ICON Employees

  • Monitors Benefit programs; emphasizing provider performance, efficient plan utilization
  • Develops Metrics for reporting to the leadership team. You are metrics focused with ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make actionable recommendations.
  • Stay abreast of ERISA and all other benefit trends and laws. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;
  • reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Global Benefits involvement in competitive analysis, strategy design, Risk and Insurance Management
  • Performs side-by-side comparisons for due diligence pertaining to benefits for acquisitions. Ensures a smooth transition to company benefits by acquired entities, which may include merging of legacy 401k Plans, assumption of seller plans through defined transition periods, and all reporting that may be required for legacy seller plans.
  • Coordinate the assessment, planning, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of voluntary, health and wellness programs
  • Build relationships and collaborates with all key stakeholders - internally and externally
  • Participate in the development of overall Global Benefit strategies as part of the Performance and Reward team.
  • Conducts research, prepares and completes requests for proposals (RFPs), oversees the selection of providers, negotiates contracts and prepares plan summary documents for benefit offerings.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in benefits field and Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred but required
  • Experience with vendor and broker management is required
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA and other applicable regulations
  • Strategic and innovate approach
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizing, and adaptation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to map processes and services from end-to-end to identify gaps and improve efficiency
  • Time management skills
  • Highly resourceful and a consistent ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented and self-driven
  • A strong teammate that can work independently as part of a Global team
