Do you want to lay the groundwork for a newly created team that will impact Amazon Worldwide Operations across EMEA and APAC?

We are looking for a Talent Intelligence Futurist to look at Horizons & Interventions, to look to the future 18m+ (Horizons) and see what headwinds we will face, what challenges we can expect, how is the labour market shifting and then recommend solutions and strategies to combat these challenges (Interventions).

You will systematically explore predictions and possibilities about the future of the labour market and how it will emerge from the present.

You possess a strong passion for using data and intelligence in a consultative manner to impact business decisions and look around corners.


  • Systematically explore predictions and possibilities about the future of the labour market and how it will emerge from the present state across our EMEA operations
  • Use a variety of research tools to drive research in markets and locations for 18 months + horizons and work to define Talent interventions to address any challenges well in advance
  • Act as trusted advisor to senior WW Operations Business Leaders and senior HR Leaders on talent insights to help the business make intelligent workforce decisions
  • As a subject matter expert on labor markets and employment, you will work with a group of internal stakeholders to develop EMEA wide employment forecasting models and produce recurring employment forecasts and labor market analysis.
  • You may be a good fit for this role if you :

  • Are able to operate independently, have a deep understanding of EMEA economic and geopolitical trends relevant to employment and labor markets, as well as of survey research and data, and a knack for writing compelling analysis for an elite readership.
  • own the development of scientific models and manage the data analysis, modelling, and experimentation that is necessary for estimating and validating model.
  • are customer-centric clearly communicating scientific approaches and findings to business leaders, listening to and incorporate their feedback, and delivering successful scientific solutions.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent experience in economics, Econometrics, statistics, quantitative marketing, or related field.
  • Extensive professional experience working with large data sets, understanding of statistical analysis, modelling techniques, data mining and business and / or public policy analysis.

  • Proven track record in research and solution of business problems leveraging techniques from economics or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrable experience in any of the following areas of applied economics (multiple areas preferred) : reduced-form causal analysis, predictive modelling and causal ML algorithms, forecasting, hazard models, health and insurance economics, education economics, labor economics, and behavioral economics, designing and administering large-scale social science surveys.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of economists and data scientists to deliver high quality research results on time.
