What does this role holder do? (Accountabilities)

  • Produce and track against a release delivery plan
  • Calculate resource demand, support recruitment and build cross-functional teams
  • Ensure quality and continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Manage and support all project and delivery governance, including mandatory reporting, RAID logs, project initiation documentation
  • Collaborate with peers to drive a change in mind-set and skills adoption across the wider bank
  • Own and be transparent in what technology we adopt in order to deliver the best customer experience, while getting the highest return on investment and value
  • Interact with a number of stakeholders to deliver software in an agile manner
  • Ensure delivery of customer products align to Client design & delivery standards
  • Provide leadership and training with teams, users, customers & stakeholders to create a clear purpose behind the value stream
  • Mandatory Risk & Conduct Accountabilities applicable to all roles :

    line of defence : Management & Supervision

  • Own, manage and supervise the risks which exist in the business area, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, manage and mitigate risk within a defined Risk Appetite.
  • Conduct :

  • Proactive identification and effective management and / or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes.
  • Comply with all Client policies, and deliver against statutory, regulatory, supervisory and legal obligations.
  • Purpose of Role

    The purpose of the role is to deliver business outcomes, for a specific value stream, through the delivery of modern web technology.

    The release train manager focuses on building a team and embedding agile practices to deliver 1st class customer experience.

    What are the skills, knowledge and experience needed to do the role?

  • Experience working for a company with an eComm based customer segment.
  • Experience building and working with agile teams, with the ability to coach and assume agile roles as required.
  • Track record of delivering business outcomes through technology projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with colleagues who need encouragement and coaching to learn new technology
  • Commercial experience of building a product which has been sold to customers
