In this key worker role you’ll support people with a learning disability, autism, or both, at home and in the community to live life in the way they choose.
You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training. Alternatively, you may have social care experience as a care assistant or care worker.
You’ll have flexibility and access to shifts that suit you; you could work for a day here and there, for a number of months, evenings only or weekends only.
As this is a casual role shifts are not guaranteed.
As part of our bank team in the Coleford area, you'll work in shifts and will be available on a flexible basis. Shifts are available in a number of locations within the Forest of Dean region.
You'll be willing and able to travel a variety of locations to pick up shifts across the area. If you're looking for weekend or waking nights only, then these options can be considered however you will be required to complete any training during the day or weekdays.
About the role
You’ll join our friendly teams, enabling people with a learning disability to increase their independence; there’s lots of variety.
You’ll support individuals in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key.
As a casual support worker you’ll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres.

You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach.
We are seeking candidates with a full driving licence however we may consider applicants that are non-drivers and those that are able to travel easily and get to services in a timely manner for shifts.
If you’re successful at interview, you’ll need to provide training certificates to confirm you have the basic required skills.
If you don’t already have these certificates you are welcome to use our eLearning resources to obtain them or use another training provider of your choice.
Once registered on the Brandon bank you’ll receive initial training to help you develop your skills and knowledge to enable you to complete your probation and gain your Care Certificate.
We will assess your practice in the early weeks, and you’ll have plenty of support.
The salary for this role is £9.10 - £9.22 per hour, dependent on qualifications & experience.
