Job Description

20 The number of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions that the Pharmaceuticals division of Novartis will be managing over the next 3 years.

The HE&OR Manager is responsible for managing the development of HTA strategies and plans which are aligned to brand plans for new and existing products.

This includes managing cross-functional teams in the development and submission of evidence dossiers to NICE, SMC & AWMSG, and managing HTA processes, including consultation phases, to achieve the desired outcomes to time, message and budget.

Your responsibilities :

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Developing and communicating health economic value arguments for new and existing products
  • Develop HTA strategies and plans for new and existing products which are consistent with the brand plans and facilitate national market access at a price that reflects the value of the product
  • Managing internal and external suppliers to develop, adapt and validate HTA deliverables (e.g. systematic literature reviews, indirect & mixed treatment comparisons, health economic models, submission documents)
  • Managing cross-functional teams in the development of high quality HTA submission dossiers and high quality responses to consultations, questions and requests from HTA bodies.
  • This will include appropriate presentation of clinical and health economic data to support the desired product positioning

  • Driving positive interactions with HTA bodies and effectively represent the company at public committee meetings and other HTA- associated meetings as required (e.g. with NHSE)
  • Collaborating with Global and Region teams to ensure that clinical development plans, HTA strategies / deliverables and pricing strategies take account of UK HTA needs.
  • This will include working as part of a core team to co-create (global) health economic models that are fit for purpose in the UK

  • Engaging in HTAs of competitor products to ensure that evidence for company products is appropriately considered and reflected in appraisal documentation
  • Minimum requirements

    What you’ll bring to the role :

  • Experience of leading successful HTA projects, developing health economic models, conducting evidence generation projects to support HTAs, managing project budgets, project management, strong commercial awareness.
  • Ideally at least 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in an HE&OR role
  • Desirable requirements :

  • Degree level education in Economics, Medical / Health sciences or Pharmacy.
  • Post-graduate qualification desired in Health Economics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy or Health Sciences
