Description of the Role :

The Payroll Specialisttakes responsibility of all elements of the payroll by being the subject matterexpert for the department.

They will beresponsible for building and maintaining successful customer relationships andfor providing specialist advice to business partners and managers.

They will have a responsibility to help growand develop the teams overall payroll knowledge.

Responsibilities include :

Due to the natureof the role and the growth of the service, responsibilities will evolve asrequired however they are expected to include :

Havean extensive working knowledge of relevant payroll and HR legislation

Delivera first class service to our customers and support the knowledge within theteam

Bethe first point of contact for all customer escalations. Owning, managing andresolving them

Developproduct knowledge to implement chargeable changes requested by customers

Workclosely with the implementation team to ensure a smooth transition fromimplementation to go live, including contributing to the build, parallel runand final go live stages of projects

Improveand maintain compliance especially in regards to GDPR and audit

Identifyand implement continuous improvements

Complete,in a timely manner, all departmental and company complex payroll tasks

Befully competent in managing and completing End of Year and P11D tasks

Ensurethat all activities are delivered as contracted and manage customerexpectations professionally to ensure that all services are delivered withinSLA

Maintainand produce required KPI’s

Produceand develop quarterly customer service review packs

Developand maintain relationships with customers, business partners and externalagencies including HMRC

Supportthe Payroll Manager with any ad-hoc tasks as required

Beable to pick up any other payroll activities as and when required

Core competencies / skills :

To be fully compliant with all UK legislation, statutory monthly andyearly requirements

Competent with all UK complexities, including different terms and conditionsand treatment of elements

Experience of different pension schemes, salary sacrifice schemes andauto enrolment

Highly motivated and driven, with excellent communication skills and atrack record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction

Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with an ability tohandle multiple tasks

Musthave outstanding Microsoft and IT skills

CIPPor equivalent qualifications is desirable
