Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of energy transition market trends and dynamics
  • Identify the various participants in the industry including technology companies, OEM’s, EPC’s, end users, research institutions and investors
  • Identify current and future opportunities for John Crane in the industry
  • Participate in industry events
  • Create "hunting guides , periodic briefings and other sales enablement materials
  • Work with Marketing Communications to craft the John Crane story and position the brand in the industry.
  • Identify the portfolio of existing work in energy transition
  • Identify the John Crane capabilities relevant to the markets needs and build a roadmap of research and NPD to support the energy transition strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships, JV’s and acquisitions to address future needs in energy transition.
  • Actively support commercial sales team in pursuits
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline within energy transition
  • Investigate, analyze and document data on energy processes and experiments.
  • Identify the various participants in the industry including technology companies, OEM’s, EPC’s, end users, research institutions
  • Establishes operating equipment specifications and design parameters for potential development projects.
  • Performs trials, tests and / or experiments to support engineering, production and / or R&D activities.
  • Assists product development in problem solving with regards to equipment and systems.
  • Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance with JC products
  • Identify the John Crane capabilities relevant to the market needs ( with Product Line Directors) and build a roadmap of research and NPD to support the energy transition strategy.
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved products targeted for the energy sector.
  • Perform laboratory studies for testing of new products in proposed processes.
  • Identify current and future technical opportunities for John Crane in the industry

    The Individual

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineer or equivalent experience in Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience working as a process engineer in energy sector. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) or process industry.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.
  • This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

  • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
