SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR- PERMANENT NATIONAL MAIN CONTRACTOR
£55,000 £65,000 + package
An exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced construction Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within the South West region for a leading national Main Contractor with a strong pipeline of projects and an excellent reputation as one of the best employers in the UK.
Our client is a highly reputable, secure and long-established national main contractor with offices across the UK. The South West region is based in Bristol and operates across building sectors including Commercial, Education and Health on large New build and refurbishment projects.
With a loyal and robust client base, the company has already secured a significant pipeline of work across South West for 2019.
Typical projects are between £10Million £60Million in value.
The project is a £35 Million Healthcare project based in the Somerset region. The role will be working between site and the Bristol office so travel up to 1 hour will be required on certain days.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for :
Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI’s are exceeded
Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including notices to client as appropriate
Commercial and contractual advice to area team as and when required
Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment
The successful candidate will likely have;
Experience as Quantity Surveyor working for a Regional or National Main Contractor on new build and refurbishment projects
Exposure to a variety of projects and sectors on new build / refurbishment projects.
Experience within Main Contracting is essential and Healthcare beneficial
A steady permanent background and a demonstrable track record in assisting in managing the commercial aspects of Construction projects of at least £15 Million +
Commutable between office and site location with some travel necessary
