An opportunity has arisen in the QUALITY TEAM for a Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for advising and assisting production staff on internal and external quality standards as required, driving through performance improvement, monitor process conformance in terms of audit results, process measures and product conformity, and providing
appropriate support to the Quality Manager
Key Accountabilities include :
Monitor daily department performance KPI’s identifying areas for improvement by exception.
Ensure compliance with all documented quality systems, as per business requirements i.e. ISO9001 / 14001, BRC, FSC requirements.
Continually monitor and review the company Quality System for improvement opportunities
Liaise with customers and suppliers when required by the needs of the business.
Supporting continuous improvement activities : Utilising quality assurance risk analysis techniques in order to minimise potential risk during manufacturing activity.
Support the product post market from a technical Quality perspective
Liaise with NPI to ensure CTQ’s are agreed during development projects
Provide statistical support during improvement activity i.e. sampling plans, capability assessments and process development, as required.
Ensure the timely completion of internal and external non-compliance report investigation in conjunction with department heads to agreed key performance indicators.
Confirming robust corrective and preventative action through review with Department Managers.
Identify opportunities to drive down Cost of Poor Quality through the site, looking to meet and exceed targets.
Produce reports for the management team as and when required.
Participate in and support during 3rd Party audits.
Carry out internal audits to support the business quality management systems
Provide guidance and leadership for rework and product quality standards
Periodically review existing measurement systems ensuring that company systems are fit for purpose
Act as the Voice of the Customer’ for allocated customers building up and maintaining detailed knowledge / documentation of customer quality standards, manufacturing processes, managing the resolution of NCR’s, product information, and previous issues.
Participate in project work as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Demonstrable track record of achievement in Quality and / or Technical, ideally in a dynamic, past paced manufacturing environment.
Technical experience within the print, paper and packaging industry would be advantageous
Problem Solving techniques
Knowledge of data and statistical analysis techniques
Knowledge of quality assurance / control procedures
Knowledge and understanding of LEAN manufacturing
Customer relations skills (internal and external)
Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Excel and other MS office applications.
Excellent communication, briefing and presentation skills
Full driving license
