Compliance Data Management Chief Data Office Associate Associate

Overview :

Compliance Data Management team (CDM) is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of data for use in Corporate Compliance Reporting, Surveillance and Monitoring.

This is achieved through the monitoring and validation of inbound data to identify data quality issues, complete impact assessment and remediate through the Defect Governance framework.

The team supports its Compliance and Advisory partners across multiple functions : Trade Surveillance & Employee Personal Account Dealing focusing on the prevention of manipulative or illegal trading practices, Client List Screening focusing on Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Sanctions & Know Your Customer (KYC) programs and AML Transaction Monitoring, focusing on the detection, investigation and reporting of suspected money laundering and terrorist financing.

CDM also manages the Compliance Chief Data Office (CDO) responsibilities, ensuring data issues are reported and tracked in accordance with the Firmwide Data Office Policy, partnering to help influence Firmwide policy and / or best practice and drive consumer data standards across all Lines of Business.

CDM is responsible for various projects / initiatives that focus on improving operational efficiencies and controls for the CDM organization and the areas we support.

The CDM team partner globally with the following groups in support of these functions :

Back Office & Middle Office Operations teams.

LOB & Compliance Technology groups (Operate and AD).

Global Compliance teams & Project Management Office.

Reference Data Teams (Security, Client and Pricing data etc.)

Firmwide Data Management & Line of Business Chief Data Office

Due to the teams expanded responsibilities an Associate level role is required to support the Compliance Chief Data Office Programs.

Key Responsibilities :

Ensure that Data Management Governance and procedures align to Firmwide standards.

Maintain Data Office Charter, procedures and process flows and rollout to the wider Compliance Data Management.

Represent Compliance as a Data Consumer on the appropriate Data Domains working groups (External Party, Secondary Markets etc.

to identify critical data attributes that impact Compliance Surveillance & Monitoring.

Assist in the development & implementation of Data Standards across all Compliance functions supported by Compliance Data Management.

Monitor the quality and accuracy of the Compliance owned data defects logged into the Firm-wide tracking tool (DQM) and drive towards a high level of accuracy in accordance Firmwide standards.

Partner with Data Management team leads to create data defect Metrics and KPI reporting to ensure adherence to & adoption of the Firmwide standards

  • Assist in the implementation of Data Content Owners for selected in scope Compliance applications and provide CDO coverage to include;
  • Data Set descriptions and Scope (Boundary Sets & Concepts); Data Lineage; Data Control Assessment and gap analysis.


    Experience Financial Services Industry in an Operations, Middle Office, or Compliance environment.

    Appreciation of data, data analysis and data lineage.

    Demonstrable analysis experience with ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

    Experienced in managing multiple partners at a senior level and presenting metrics & progress accordingly.

    Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing and relationship building skills.

    Data Quality Management an advantage.

    Knowledge of the following Compliance functions an advantage : Employee Compliance; Sanctions Screening; Trade Surveillance & Anti Money Laundering.


    Strong Microsoft Office skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Visio.

    Data Quality Management - DQM, Data Quality Reporting - QLIKVIEW and DataBook (Firm-Wide Data Tools) an advantage.
