In this busy role you will ensure that SW’s legal and Statutory Equipment requirements are kept up to date maintained and repaired and that the equipment issued is certified safe to use and is delivered on time to the business.

Working as part of the Electrical / Mechanical maintenance team the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of an effective Proactive and Customer Driven service to Water and Waste Water treatment plants and pumping stations.

The role holder will start from home, direct to site providing a field based multi-skilled maintenance and inspection service ensuring the safe and effective operation of all statutory plant and equipment.

One position is available : South (Tweed) Area ideally based centrally around Edinburgh or Lothians; covering an area including Fife, Edinburgh and Lothians and the Borders.

You may be asked to cover for your colleagues elsewhere in Scotland during times of illness, holidays etc.

the Key Accountabilities / Tasks in the role inlclude :

  • To assist in the development and implementation of Scottish Water Health and Safety procedures, initiatives and to ensure compliance with legislation, monitor performance and recommend corrective actions and provide Statutory Inspection Support within Scottish Water.
  • To ensure all Statutory and Legal requirements are kept up to date, in compliance with HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, PSSR Regs, as per HSE requirements, assisting with external Inspectors / contractors as required
  • Support Scottish Water to ensure key Statutory & Health & Safety initiatives are implemented within the business.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to including risk assessments, etc
  • To ensure all Statutory equipment is inspected, maintained, repaired and replaced as required. (e.g. Lifting Equipment is inspected and tagged with the correct information) and to provide Support & Guidance to Scottish Water staff in matters relating to Statutory Legislation to ensure a consistent SW approach is maintained within HSE Regulations.
  • To ensure that Statutory related equipment is issued according to HSE Legislation and records are kept up to date to reflect this.
