They are now looking to recruit a Research Contracts Advisor to join their expanding team based in Didcot.Job DescriptionNegotiate, draft and finalise research contracts and other agreements in atimely manner.
Identify, communicate and mitigate contractual risks.Specific responsibilities in relation to managing contract novation activities.
Provide specialist support for staff on all aspects of contracts andcontracts management.Advise on contractual issues, including intellectual property rights, to bothinternal staff and external stakeholders.
Ensure that the clients project contracts enable future use of project results bothfor future scientific research and where appropriate for commercialexploitation.
Manage the contracts process for and on behalf of staff.Contribute to in-house training sessions at individual sites and to thepreparation of training materials.
The Successful ApplicantEvidence of recent work experience within a contracts environment.Degree level education - Preferably with a legal backgroundProven ability at drafting and negotiating project contracts, including consortiaand sub-
contracts, Framework Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding andMaterial Transfer Agreements.Good knowledge of intellectual property issues and ability to provide clearadvice on copyright and other areas of IPR.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish close working relationshipswith scientists and non-scientists alike at all levels.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to workeffectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent level of numerical ability and proven computer skills, including theuse of Excel, a good knowledge of relevant contract management softwareand ideally Inteum.
