Role Associate (2-5 PQE)

Our Commercial team is a national group, with teams across each AG office working together on national and cross border transactions.
The Leeds team is ranked in Tier 1 for IT with an enviable client base and consists of three partners, fifteen fee earners, two trainees and two embedded paralegals who are involved in a range of work types including Intellectual Property protection and exploitation, IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing, facilities management outsourcing, logistics, SaaS, cloud arrangements and commercial contracts.
In respect of IT, the team handles some of the largest, most complex transactions in this market.
We are looking for a strong commercial lawyer with experience of at least one of the following sectors : retail & consumer, financial services, advanced manufacturing, aviation, digital, and health.
You will take responsibility as an advisor on a range matters, in addition to working as part of a team.
You will manage your own workload and have good project management skills as well as supporting on other matters, handling a spread of commercial work as and when needed by clients.
Your focus will be to build relationships with clients and to handle all of their commercial needs.
As an Associate in the team you will play a key part in shaping and driving the development of the junior team members and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to take on additional responsibility and advance your career.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
To be able to advise at the level required in this role, we expect that you will have gained between 2-65years post qualification experience in a comparable practice or in-house.
In building this experience you will have demonstrated strong technical, project management and analytical skills, a keen intellect, commercial mind-set and a solutions based approach.
You will be able to demonstrate that you are able to provide pragmatic, robust and tailored advice in a way that supports internal and external clients alike.
You will have developed strong client management skills and built a demonstrable track record of strong financial performance.
The successful candidate will have :
Real desire to work for a premium law firm for FTSE 100 clients on market-leading work
Clear understanding of the needs of the clients of a top flight team
Ideally have some experience in IT transactions such as software licensing and support, Saas, hardware purchase and IT managed services
Clear understanding of excellent client service, going the extra mile to deliver a service for clients
Real desire to stretch yourself into leading roles on complex large scale transactions for sophisticated clients
