The Role

We are looking for talented Tax Assistants to join us in Canada Square, London (although flexibility on location will be considered) with experience in a broad range of areas including :

  • Tax transformation experience the ability to analyse tax requirements, design tax processes and implement tax technology solutions
  • Practical financial and tax systems experience, specifically in SAP S4 HANA, Oracle or Workday, or financial sector trading systems as a foundation for tax processes
  • Experience of design and configuration of financial systems for tax purposes
  • Experience of implementing VAT determination engines in partly exempt businesses is desirable
  • Tax technology implementation experience, including requirements gathering from a tax, IT and users and creating and reviewing design documentation
  • Tax process knowledge, for example indirect tax, direct tax and / or transfer pricing
  • Financial services product / transaction / operations knowledge is desirable but this experience does not have to have been obtained working in a tax role
  • Familiarity with end-to-end finance processes (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Record-to-report) and their integration with tax
  • Advising on appropriate tax technology to support compliance and reporting processes
  • Supporting the overall delivery of global and large UK compliance and reporting managed service projects
  • Supporting the business development process to progress leads to sales and supporting contract negotiation and agreement
  • Supporting service offerings and service delivery models
  • Supporting clients with implementation of managed service solutions to ensure the widespread adoption across their business units

  • We have a diverse client base, across insurance, banking, asset management (including real estate and private equity) and fintech.

    Financial Services candidates will also have the opportunity to work on clients from other industries if they so desire, as we do not have rigid lines (i.

    e. silos) between industry focused teams. The role involves working on clients of all sizes and across a wide range of sectors.

    We are offering full time roles with flexible working arrangements which include, early or late starts to fit around other commitments, shorter working days etc.

    Roles & Responsibilities

  • Delivering global and large tax transformation and technology projects, often as part of a wider finance transformation program
  • Helping clients to design, build and deploy ERP and tax automation solutions which are designed for Tax
  • Supporting our clients understand the importance of Tax, the optimal way to address tax requirements in their countries and the value that it can bring
  • Working together with our other Tax Transformation colleagues as well as other groups in KPMG such as Consulting
  • Supporting clients with implementation of managed service solutions to ensure the widespread adoption across their business units
  • Helping clients develop robust global governance and process frameworks
  • Developing our service offerings and service delivery models
  • Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients
  • Overseeing output of offshore resource in order to deliver client projects
  • Identifying opportunities to identify additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists
  • Coaching and technical support for other team members
  • Following KPMG best practice and policy.
  • The Person

    Qualifications and skills :

    We welcome applications from those qualified by experience in financial and trading systems and tax technology solutions (e.

    g. FICO qualified, Thomson Reuters Certified Implementer) , as well as ATT / CTA / ACA or equivalent qualifications. Project Management qualifications are also welcomed.

  • Awareness or experience of tax and accounting compliance processes (e.g. Direct / Indirect tax returns, statutory accounting).
