As a Financial Institution BD Manager, you will be responsible for seeking and developing long-term business partnerships within FSI sector (include but not limited to Banks, payment gateways, regulatory, and payment companies, etc.
for the purpose of offering payment capabilities to Alibaba group of companies. You will need to formulate and execute the payment strategy for the region, and work closely with our partners to scale and optimize solutions.
The ideal candidate must have strong business acumen and target region’s market knowledge; demonstrates strong ability to think strategically and influence senior stakeholders.
A background with particular focus on financial institution partnerships will be essential, and knowledge and interest in global banking and payment systems, internet businesses, ecommerce, and operational details of payment and card infrastructure will be advantage.
Set up and implement the payment product strategy for Alibaba Group merchants and Ant Financial customers globally;
Build a sustainable local Financial Institutions (FI) partnership eco system for respective region / market;
Be the Point-Of-Contact for local market knowledge and provide consultation on local payment products / landscape to Alibaba and Alipay team;
Define and lead partnership strategies with financial institutions, acquirers, card networks, and other financial technology partners needed;
Establish and maintain existing relationships with payment partners / banks / psps / acquirers, with strong engagement with key executives in the financial industry;
to serve as key escalation point in negotiations and discussions with key influencers, partners, and regulators;
Negotiate commercial terms and contracts, coordinate with local stakeholders;
Work with cross-functional teams to support and prioritize new product and channel launches, and to lead the collaboration between FI partners, product teams and HQ;
Engage in marketing operations to drive higher usage and conversion rates for payment channels;
Manage performance of all payment partners in respective countries;
Help to build efficient funds management network in responsible market.
At least 5 year working experience, among which 3 years in relevance of FSI or payment channel relationship.
Prior experience in a 3rd party payment company / payment solution in E-commerce platform / cards scheme / bank’s payment solution department (payment or merchant acquiring) is desired.
In-depth understanding of local regulation and compliance regarding payment business and cross-border fund movement is a requirement.
Business proficiency of English; Communication in Mandarin preferred.
Able to work under pressure, rapid response to change.
Extensive travelling within territory and / or across regions will be required.
