A Cisco Webex Calling Engineer is responsible for working with the various organisations to introduce new cloud based calling features and services into the Cisco WxC Calling product offering.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The WxC Calling Integration Engineer will test the potential solutions, deploy and document those solutions for other groups to consume.
The candidate must have excellent verbal and writing skills in this role
Working with Product, Architecture and Development teams to create and understand high-level WxC Calling product roadmap items and requirements
Research and determine potential technical solutions to meet the requirements
Develop project plans and schedules to complete the development
Execute test plans and complete testing for the proof of concept and final solution design
Produce detailed requirements documents for internal and external consumption
Produce documentation to assist internal support organizations and customers in understanding and using new features and services
Provide support to resolve issues that may be escalated by support organizations into the Engineering group
Document and update plan of records for hardware and software platforms managed by the WxC EVS Engineering team
Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party equipment vendors
Keep abreast of all relevant vendor developments and establish strategies to proactively evolve the network and remain technologically current
Keep abreast of all relevant industry standards and be able to apply these standards as necessary
Develop automation tools to enhance the engineering maintenance efficiency Who You Will Work With
Our team works with both internal Engineering organizations other departments that work directly with the Engineering organization.
You will also directly interface with 3rd party vendors relaying product requirements and specifications.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
The WxC Calling Integration Engineer must be experienced in SIP, and VoIP using high level requirements to determine a technical solution that meets or exceed those requirements.
Knowlege of voice network architecture design and implementation principles.
5+ years of SIP and VoIP Telecommunications experience.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, or Computer Engineering Sciences (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Experience or knowledge of VoIP protocols for signalling a media (SIP / SDP / RTP) are crucial
Experience or knowledge of the encryption protocols TLS and SRT
Experience or knowledge of session border controllers
Networking protocols, including L2 Ethernet switching and TCP / IP.
Experience or knowledge of engineering, operating and solving VoIP networks and associated components
Knowledge of voice network architecture design and implementation principles
Outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to adapt from executive to employee messaging
You have the ability to use critical thinking and logic to take high level requirements and resolve appropriate steps and develop a process for turning those requirements into a product or service offering for our customers
Ability to work and collaborate as part of a team with varied strengths of engineers
Experience with other VOIP platforms would be an advantage if not familiar with webex calling directly, platform training would be provided.
