Develop New Business

  • Act positively to develop new business from existing and prospective clients
  • Generate new business opportunities through the promotion of cooperation and communication within Willis Towers Watson
  • Establish and / or organise and / or participate in bid teams for major new prospective clients.
  • Gather and Analyse Insurance Information

  • Liaise with clients, prospective clients and markets to collect and collate underwriting information
  • Contribute to client / prospective client programme strategy and design
  • Contribute to the budgeting process.
  • Prepare market / underwriting submissions
  • Prepare market / underwriting submissions
  • Negotiate and Implement Insurance Programmes

  • Prepare market / underwriting submissions
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of market presentations
  • Assist in market negotiation and placement
  • Confirm cover to client.
  • Service Clients and Maintain Client Insurance Programmes

  • Understand client’s business, risks and approach to risk management and insurance
  • Identify and provide consultancy and insurance services and develop new products and coverages, to meet clients’ needs
  • Manage the production of market documentation including final evidence of cover, invoices, policies, endorsements, client reports, registers, manuals and claims procedures
  • Manage the collection of premiums / fees and identify potential bad debt exposures
  • Liaise with the claims team as necessary to ensure clients’ claims are efficiently dealt with.
  • Manage Business Relationships

  • Maintain relationships with principal insurers and reinsurers to ensure satisfactory service levels are achieved.
  • Maintain relationships with principal clients and prospective clients
  • Review the performance of relevant external and internal suppliers and services to ensure clients’ needs are satisfied.
  • Training

  • Contribute to in-house training programmes both as tutor and / or delegate.
  • Continuously update and improve competency through ongoing education and development
  • Identify and pursue your own training requirements by use of Willis Towers Watson training schemes
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training.
  • Significant
  • experience working within the Construction / Engineering Insurance Broking

  • Practical
  • working experience with the following key insurance products :

  • Liability / Third Party Liability

  • Delay
  • In Start-Up / Completion

  • Some
  • knowledge of or familiarity with one or more of the following insurance

  • Transit and Marine Consequential Loss

  • and Business Interruption

  • Professional
  • Contractors
  • Pollution Liability & Environmental Impairment Liability.

  • Knowledge of standard UK and / or Overseas Building and Engineering Contracts and practical experience in providing consultancy advice on the insurance, indemnity, force majeure, delay / relief events and liquidated damages clauses within such contracts
  • Knowledge of and experience in the placement of one-off or annual wrap-up insurance programmes on behalf of developers, corporations, special purpose vehicles, governments, local authorities, financiers etc.
