We are looking for a HSE Advisor to be based within 30 mins travelling distance from our Galloper Offshore wind site in Harwich.
Main Responsibilities :
The HSE Advisor is responsible for providing independent, expert, and professional advice and guidance to the site management on all health and safety issues, actively participate in and promoting a high standard of health, safety, and environmental awareness and culture at the designated operational offshore wind farm.
Maintenance of HSE risk registers in relation to allocated offshore operations site designated.
Liaising with Procurement on HSE topics related to allocated offshore operations site designated.
Produce, review and update health & safety related documentation required by the allocated offshore operations site designated and for UK as directed by Team Lead HSE Offshore Operation.
Proactively support and advise line / project management in meeting their HSE responsibility (incl. but not limited to risk assessments) with technical, organizational and procedural as well as compliance advice.
Engage and develop relationships with operational teams to eliminate and reduce risks, develop HSE culture on site and adherence to HSE standards and rules
Cooperate with line management and where applicable Joint Ventures (JV) board members to develop and implement measures and solutions to address HSE challenges.
Planning, steering and follow-up of HSE activities at operational level in coordination with the global HSE management of RWE Renewables.
Attend meetings, site visits and technology reviews with sub-contractors & clients in relation to offshore operations as directed by the Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations.
Requirements For The Role :
NEBOSH Diploma in Degree in Health and Safety related discipline, engineering / safety engineering or similar. The ideal candidate will have a Level 4 or higher safety qualification and ideally will also hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in an environmental discipline such as IEMA or CIEH Environmental Management.
They will ideally hold an audit qualification such as ISO 45001 / 14001 internal auditor, along with an Incident root cause analysis qualification.
They should also be a member of a relevant industry body (i.e. IOSH, IIRSM, CIEH, BOHS).
Minimum 3 years’ experience as HSE professional, preferably in Offshore Wind, energy or oil and gas sectors.
Be able to demonstrate a flexible, practical and proactive approach to managing operational HSE challenges.
Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a certifiable HSE Management System.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
