We are looking for a HSE Advisor to be based within 30 mins travelling distance from our Galloper Offshore wind site in Harwich.

Main Responsibilities :

  • The HSE Advisor is responsible for providing independent, expert, and professional advice and guidance to the site management on all health and safety issues, actively participate in and promoting a high standard of health, safety, and environmental awareness and culture at the designated operational offshore wind farm.
  • Maintenance of HSE risk registers in relation to allocated offshore operations site designated.
  • Liaising with Procurement on HSE topics related to allocated offshore operations site designated.
  • Produce, review and update health & safety related documentation required by the allocated offshore operations site designated and for UK as directed by Team Lead HSE Offshore Operation.
  • Proactively support and advise line / project management in meeting their HSE responsibility (incl. but not limited to risk assessments) with technical, organizational and procedural as well as compliance advice.
  • Engage and develop relationships with operational teams to eliminate and reduce risks, develop HSE culture on site and adherence to HSE standards and rules
  • Cooperate with line management and where applicable Joint Ventures (JV) board members to develop and implement measures and solutions to address HSE challenges.
  • Planning, steering and follow-up of HSE activities at operational level in coordination with the global HSE management of RWE Renewables.
  • Attend meetings, site visits and technology reviews with sub-contractors & clients in relation to offshore operations as directed by the Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations.
  • Requirements For The Role :

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Degree in Health and Safety related discipline, engineering / safety engineering or similar. The ideal candidate will have a Level 4 or higher safety qualification and ideally will also hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in an environmental discipline such as IEMA or CIEH Environmental Management.
  • They will ideally hold an audit qualification such as ISO 45001 / 14001 internal auditor, along with an Incident root cause analysis qualification.
  • They should also be a member of a relevant industry body (i.e. IOSH, IIRSM, CIEH, BOHS).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as HSE professional, preferably in Offshore Wind, energy or oil and gas sectors.
  • Be able to demonstrate a flexible, practical and proactive approach to managing operational HSE challenges.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a certifiable HSE Management System.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
