Our team in London are highly collaborative and will offer you the support and training to progress your career. You will have the chance to work directly for key clients and should you have any in-country experience of working within the Japanese market this would be highly desirable.
The nature of the role has some flexibility, whilst experience in the reinsurance industry is essential. We are seeking dynamic and dedicated candidates that may come from a range of backgrounds and experience of which include (re)insurance broking, underwriting, marketing or client management.

Assist with the renewal of reinsurance programs with a focus on regional / multinational clients and prospects.
Meet with clients, as necessary, to learn their needs and maintain / develop strong relationships.
Travelling to Japan on a regular basis is expected.
Assist with the design of new programs for clients' needs, placing business with client-approved reinsurers.
Working in close contact with the Data Analytics, Capital Advisory and Structured Solutions team to create bespoke client solutions.
Negotiate with reinsurers on pricing, terms and conditions to achieve positives outcomes for clients.
Produce placement slips, cover notes and contracts, as needed.
Monitor the follow-up on contract documentation, ensuring the timely flow of materials.

We will rely on you to :
Establish and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, clients and colleagues.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of reinsurer capability (product lines, capacity, approvals, etc.).
Demonstrate proficient awareness of market conditions to better serve clients and obtain the best terms from the Markets.
Document correspondence in accordance with GC procedures.
Manage reinsurance placement details via GC’s online portal (GC MarketPlace) in a timely and accurate manner.
What you need to have :
Strong international (re)insurance market knowledge
Ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and industry leaders at all levels.
Ability to manage potential conflicts of interest and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity at all times
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines is essential.
What makes you stand out :
Some school or degree level qualification in Mathematics, Finance or Statistics preferred.
Experience of non-marine property reinsurance treaty broking, underwriting or marketing preferred.
Previous knowledge of Japan would be useful, but not essential.
Knowledge of Japanese language would be useful, but not essential.
