SAM License Specialist

Our business continues to grow creating an opportunity for a SAM Licensing Specialist to join the team.
In support of SCC’s investment in an enhanced Software Asset Management service for our customers we have created an additional role for a Software Asset Manager.
Reporting to the SCC SAM Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of SCC’s license management services.
The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the software license management Best Practice tools and processes in place, performing activities such as Entitlements Management, Reconciliation activities, optimisation identification and audit support.
The concept of true customer success management is key for this role.
Undertake assignments, specifically gathering and analysing customer’s contract, entitlement, renewals and discovery data for inputting into SCCs SAM tool
Provide advice and expertise to support the customer’s best interests on software license management.
Deliver key SAM deliverables as part of the managed services to key accounts. Through the software Lifecycle.
Present findings back to customer reporting areas of optimisation and risk with options.
Answer software requests and carry out balance checks on managed service accounts.
Carry out one off Vendor audits where required to support a true up.
Undertake optimisation activities identifying areas of optimisation and cost reduction
Support customers responding to and managing software compliance reviews / audits by major vendors.
Support implementing & configuring SAM tools
Define and implement SAM Strategies along with Policies and Processes
Practice SAM activities in line with ITIL v3 and ISO / IEC 20000 with a track record of operating and managing
Skills, Expertise, knowledge :
Have a good understanding of the application lifecycle process flow and licence models and metrics
Execute effectively across organisational boundaries, developing strong relationships with key SCC stakeholders and partners
Have excellent communication skills to enable open and transparent working practices with internal teams and external customers and vendors
Technical qualifications, relevant technical experience within IT Industry
Experience in services organisations and environments would be advantageous
Adhere to administrative processes in line with company guidelines
Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and managing expectations, acting as a trusted adviser to the customer.
Promote and recommend best practice to the customer and provide support where appropriate.
Strong understanding of major license models including IBM, Oracle and SAP & SaaS consumption license models
Ability to research, interpret and communicate product use rights and licensing terms & conditions
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong analytical skills. Ability to create, interpret and present data effectively
