Directly responsible for UK VAT and indirect tax policies,processing and compliance
Indirectly responsible for international VAT and indirecttax via local finance teams
Contributing to firm-wide projects including theimplementation of a new finance system
Providing expert advice to UK front office teams - partnersand secretarial hubs
Supporting on external and internal audits relating toindirect tax
Developing the VAT knowledge and skills within existingfinance teams
Creating appropriate training materials for DLA PiperInternationally
Managing external consultants where specialist orcountry-specific advice is required
The VAT Manager will :
Have the appropriate qualifications in UK and internationalVAT
Have a theoretical and sound practical understanding of theVAT and indirect taxes
Have strong written and verbal communication skills and willbe able to explain complex issues to non-finance teams
Confident in dealing with HRMC and other international taxauthorities
Demonstrate patient and collaborative personal working style
Be an influencer, able to negotiate and have strong decisionmaking skills
Be comfortable multi-tasking and working to sometimesconflicting timescales and multiple priorities in a robust and fast-pacedenvironment
