Position Purpose
Mechanical Production Associates are a vital part of the Custom Fabrication team and play a key role in our manufacturing process, producing assemblies.
Essentially, a Mechanical Production Associates role is to work alongside the Custom Fabricators and other manufacturing employees supporting and assisting in the manufacture and production of projects.
The Mechanical Production Associate will be responsible for the assembly of units according to required specifications whilst using a variety of tools and equipment.
You will read and interpret blueprints, sketches and written instructions to assemble the parts or products.
Main Outcomes of the Position
Assistance in the Manufacture of assemblies within projects to supplied drawings.
Be able to operate industrial power / Hand tools to a high standard.
Whenever possible you will be required to work on multiple projects with a variety of processes.
Complete work allocated in a timely manner.
Maintain delivery of quality projects to scheduled department / Delivery dates.
Work with other departments to solve problems and improve efficiencies.
Assemble, test and pack products in accordance to production objectives
Ensure products are built to specifications / drawings to ensure functionality once fitted
Work independently from engineering drawings
Maintain quality standards at the output rate required in a safe manner
Communicate concerns and opportunities whenever appropriate to the Production Manager
Participate in Continious Improvement activites
Provide first off, stage and final inspections when appropriate
Ensures that the working environment is safe.
Key responsibilities / Decision making authority
Read, interpret, follow drawings to manufacture industry standard structures.
Being able to understand instructions and support the Lead Custom Fabricators in the execution of all projects.
Ensure parts of projects are manufactured to desired level as instructed.
Ability to understand measurements and quality standards.
Ability to use the tools independently within the department including cutting machines to a high standard.
An Understanding of different fixings required e.g. glues, screws, nails, staples.
An Understanding of the different types of material & sizes e.g. Plywood / MDF sheets,Di-Bond,Nylon,Polycarb,Timber lengths and thicknesses
Assisting the Lead Custom Fabricators and, or other employees on site to ensure clients expectations are met. Maintaining high quality of finishes to products.
Work within & according to health & safety guidelines to maintain personal and others safety.
Periodically check all equipment is maintained to high standards and report issues.
Perform housekeeping within the department including but not limited to sweeping, hoovering and cleaning tools and machines.
Evaluate quality of materials / parts etc. before manufacture is carried out and on completion of products perform quality checks before delivery.
Report any issues to line manager.
Maintain clean & safe working environment.
Comply with clock procedures to comply with company processes.
Be flexible to perform duties throughout other departments.
Engage in personal development programs / Training.
Operate within individual & team environment maintaining work ethics individually and alongside other team members.
Ensure all spare materials are placed in appropriate storage place or returned to sores.
Communication between line manager / colleagues.
